Newest Updates!
To our Donna Lee Studio of Dance Family,
Happy summer!!!! We cannot wait to see our dancers skipping, turning, and walking on their hands again (in the studio!!!) beginning July 6th in preparation for our first ever Virtual Recital!!!! This has been the most epic dance year yet! As excited as we are to get grooving again, the health and safety of our dancers, their families, and our staff is of utmost importance.
Over the last three months, we have been in contact with medical professionals and we have been consulting with other studios nationally and internationally to create a safe space for our dancers upon return to the dance studio.
Below is a list of guidelines that we have implemented in anticipation of re-opening.
DROP OFF/PICK-UP:
All classes will be drop off and pick up only. Our lobby areas will remain closed. The children will have specific entrance and exit doors for each class. Specific details about which doors to use will be released prior to you dancer’s class. If you need dancewear, shoes, etc., please call the office and we will let you inside.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Your child’s temperature will be taken prior to entering the classroom and will not be admitted if reading is 99 degrees or higher. Children presenting any other cold symptoms (persistent cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc.) will not be permitted.
SOCIAL DISTANCING:
We have created a grid on the floors of each studio to give the children a visual to stand 6 feet apart from each other. There will be designated places for dancers to place their bags so that they remain separate. We will make arrangements for the larger classes to be in the larger rooms where we can ensure social distance. Children must adhere to social distancing in the classroom. Children disrespecting the rules may be asked to leave.
MASKS:
Children may wear masks; however, due to the cardiovascular activity in which they are participating, it is not required.
CLEANING:
Our buildings have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized often over the last three months (though they have remained empty). We will be sanitizing touch-points between classes. Children will be asked to sanitize their hands before and after class. Additionally, the children may be asked to help wipe down their areas at the barres, mats, etc.
We ask for your understanding as we are ever-changing to accommodate the most up to date information.
Schedule and Details of What’s to Come:
JULY 2020: We will OPEN our physical doors on July 6th and resume in-studio classes in order to prepare for the dance recital.
AUG 2020: ****RECITAL**** We want our dancers to have their moment in the spotlight and are doing everything we can to make that happen. Due to social distancing, we will not be able to have a “normal” recital in a large theater and on a big stage. We will be holding an in-studio, direct to DVD recital & photography session. What this means is, each class will perform their dance in full costume & makeup at the dance studio. After they have performed their dance, a professional photographer will take individual and group dance portraits. A professional videographer will capture each dance and create a recital movie for you to enjoy at home, and share with friends and family for years to come. The days and times of filming and portraits are to be announced.
COSTUMES: Some of our dancers have not received their costumes. We will notify you when your costumes will be available for pickup. All accounts must be paid in full to receive costumes.
PAYMENT: In good faith to all of our Donna Lee families, the payments for July and August will continue to be discounted by 20%. Please remember to access your account online to pay your monthly payment. If you would like our administrators to process your credit card, or need to make payment arrangements specific to your family’s current financial position due to Covid-19, please contact the studio office and we will be happy to help.
FALL SESSION: Fall classes will begin Tuesday, September 8th (the day after Labor Day). Click Here to Register!
Last but not least, we want to THANK YOU for your love and support. All of our lives have completely changed. Many families are experiencing unemployment, kids are finishing school at home, celebrations have been canceled, postponed, or turned into a drive-by. We are grateful for the chance to share our love of dance with your kids each week. Because of you and your dancers, we know that we will be able to open our physical studio again someday. In the meantime, we really are all in this together. We cannot thank you enough.
